Please tell us about the history of Metal Division Magazine (MDM). Thomas: It started in 2014 rather by chance: We were supposed to take pics at a festival - and as is often the case, everything quickly got rolling afterwards. At that time, we still ran under the name „Franconia Metallum“, which immediately hit the Franconian underground. After the later renaming to MDM, regional interest unfortunately decreased noticeably. Today we have been with us for over a decade, but our permanent team has shrunk to 3 people. It has become difficult to find people who want to write a proper report after a concert or CD reviews. Many also expect a physical CD for reviews, while we now receive almost exclusively digital promos. The real heart and soul are becoming rarer - but our hard core is keeping at it.
