Nick Grima - Artist Manager/Booker

You have been active in the music scene since 1999. How did you become an artist manager/booker?

Nick: I started in the music scene in 1999, initially as a fan in 1994 and then as a promoter. Over time, I built connections, gained experience in event organization, and transitioned into management and booking naturally. Passion and dedication turned into today’s Nick Grima MGT underground artist agency.

You work exclusively with bands that come from the field of metal and related styles. Why this? Would bands indie, punk, HC, etc. bands also be conceivable for you?

Nick: My focus is on Heavy Metal music and related genres because of my deep personal and professional connection to the scene. While indie, punk, and HC bands could be possible, my expertise and network are strongest in metal, ensuring the best results for my artists.

What criteria do you use to choose bands to work with? What do the bands need to have in order for a collaboration to happen? Is this always the combination of management/booking or are there also only management or booking deals?

Nick: I look for talent, professionalism, and a strong work ethic. A dedicated fan base, unique sound, and growth potential are key. Also, social media numbers are very important. I offer both full management and booking or separate deals, depending on the band’s needs.
