TIME FOR METAL (TFM; www.time-for-metal.de) celebrates its 15th anniversary this year. How did TFM come about? Are there any special activities planned for the occasion? If so, what?
René: Actually, the development phase was 15 years ago. We officially started in 2011 and will be celebrating our 15th anniversary next year. There will also be special promotions throughout 2026.

With such an anniversary, people also like to review the experience. Are there any highlights and lowlights for you personally? How do you see the development from then to now? What has changed in the music landscape for the better and for the worse?
René: The time has passed so fast, it’s hard to imagine that we’ll actually reach the 15-year-mark next year. Our ambitions were huge, we’ve worked with countless partners over the years and formed a solid team from a handful of people, which is a very important highlight in our history. In addition, we’ve been able to reach the upper levels of the online magazines in the metal business. The music industry is constantly changing. There are certainly negative trends at times. But I don’t want to talk about that. Let’s spend time with positive things. The rock/metal scene is one big family, we should all uphold that as an important good and enjoy our music, concerts and festivals together.

If you have to write a review about an album that you don’t like at all, how do you deal with that situation? Do you pass on the album to someone who likes it or aren’t you afraid to give the album a bad rating?
René: If I have chosen an album, it will definitely be reviewed. Every work of art is rated fairly, even if I don’t like it. If it is a negative one, it will be written as such, I owe it to the readers. Especially as honest feedback is more valuable for the bands than glossing over it - it doesn’t do anyone any favors.
