Pedro - Sound Engineer

 

If you don’t have a sound engineer as an organizer, then your crew can be brought on board. Interesting concept! How long have you been around, how many technicians are in your crew, etc.? Just tell us something about the background. I would also be interested to know how many times a year you are in action.
Pedro: That’s our concept - we offer our technical knowledge and experience to mix for organizers. We have been around for about 3 years now. About our background, I taught myself sound engineering about 10 years ago and since then I’ve been mixing at least one concert almost every weekend. There are six of us in our crew, including trained and unskilled technicians, but also stage helpers for set-up and dismantling.

You are at home in Berlin. Is it possible to get involved outside of Berlin or are you only focused on the greater Berlin area? Are you open to all musical genres or rather fixated on genres?
Pedro: Of course, we are not only focused on Berlin, as long as we get notice in time, we actually mix all over Germany. We are open to any kind of music, as long as the political message is right.

If somebody new wants to join you, does that person have to be a trained sound engineer or do you also train interested newcomers?
Pedro: In fact, anyone who wants to do sound engineering can contact us, we are happy to pass on our knowledge and also accept trained sound engineers.
