Andrius Kulvinskas - Label & Record Store Owner

Label, mail order, distro and booking, these are your fields of activity since 2002. Can you please give us a little insight into how it all started, how it has developed and what else you are planning for the future.
Andrius: It started simply – when no one wanted to release our music, we did it ourselves. Then we began releasing other bands we liked. Our first release in 2002 was a zero-budget DIY project made in my room. At the time, the punk/hardcore scene in Lithuania and nearby was very active, and we naturally found likeminded people. Sharing and mailing music became a way of life. Over time, we connected with scenes across the Baltics, Poland, and Eastern Europe. We moved beyond releasing music – distributing, helping bands with physical formats, organizing tours. We became part of a wider DIY community. Future? Stay useful to those who care. Keep releasing, keep supporting. Physical formats aren’t easy now, but we keep going with energy and support.

Do you concentrate on bands in the Baltic area and Eastern Europe, or do you work globally?
Andrius: We started in the Baltics and Eastern Europe but now work with bands from all over – the US, Japan, South America, Western Europe, and beyond. Geography doesn’t matter as much as mindset – DIY ethics, community, meaningful music. We’re part of a global underground where connection is built on values, not profit.

The Baltic States are located on the edge of Europe. What influence does this decentralized location and the Russia-Ukraine war have on your biz?
Andrius: Being on Europe’s edge makes it harder to bring in big bands, and the scene is smaller. But it also gives us a clear, independent identity. The Baltic scene still feels close-knit. The war had a strong impact. Friends in Ukraine shifted to support work. Some Russian projects were paused – not due to support for the regime, but from chaos and moral stance. We’re firmly anti-war and anti-authoritarian. We help where we can – through solidarity and shared releases. Every record we send is a message of cultural resistance
