RAVENSTINE (GER)
Martin (guitar) with 3 facts about his band RAVENSTINE
Your live album „Live“ is based on two very interesting decisions. On the one hand, you decided not to make the album available digitally, but only as a limited version on vinyl/CD. Why that and if the demand becomes too great, are there any considerations to reverse the decision?
Martin: “Live” is a gift to collectors. We don’t want to produce any fast food. “Live” is like a good meal. It’s not fast food that you can get everywhere. It’s a good meal cooked by your wife, served with love and a good glass of red wine. Our next studio record you will find on digital streaming platforms … for sure! We know that Spotify and other streaming companies are really important to find new fans all over the world.
On the other hand, after the termination of the contract with Massacre Records, the album will be released by the newly founded label P.B. Records. Isn’t it a risk to release with a new, possibly inexperienced label? How did the deal come about?
Martin: No risk, no fun! Heinz and Rene from Plattenbau told me long time ago that they want to start their own record label. I told them that we have very good live material from the soundboard of Kuhzifest in Emden 2024. My idea was to build a bridge between our latest release “2024” and our next record.
What’s on your agenda after the live album? Is another studio record in the pipeline and will it also be released via P.B. Records?
Martin: We will play a couple of shows this year and also, we start the recordings for a new record. After we finished the recordings, we want to send the new material to different record companies and we’ll find a new partner. We like the work of P.B. Records, but I think we need a bigger label to push the band a step forward
