Sebastian Gladrow - Tourbus Rental Service
How long have you been running the tour bus service and how did you get into it? How hard did Corona hit you or how did you bridge the time?
Sebastian: I’ve been running the tour service since 2003, but in the beginning, I rode the big nightliners for various companies and artists. The pandemic was also a hard time for me. I only had a few tours and got some money from the state. When I saw that many musicians could no longer go on tour because of the exploding prices for nightliners, I bought the company „Tourbusse Wendt“ after Corona. I want to support all the small bands and musicians who can’t afford a big nightliner. They must also have the opportunity to go on tour.

You rebuild the interior of the buses yourself or transform them into mobile hotel rooms. How long does such a rebuild usually take and what is particularly important to you?
Sebastian: Yes, we build all our vans and mini nightliners ourselves. To transform an empty Sprinter vehicle into a rolling hotel room, takes us about one month. It’s important to me that everyone has a pleasant ride in our vehicles.
How many vehicles do you have in your fleet and who do you work with when larger nightliners are needed? Will I get a bus from one day to the next or how long is the lead time for a rental?
Sebastian: We have eight Sprinters, one V-Class, one mini nightliner and two new Sprinters will be added in December. For larger nightliners, we work together with "Kultour", "Tourneeservice Tietze" and a few other providers. As far as availability is concerned, it depends on when the customer makes the request. At the end of the year, everything is usually already fully booked and has been since the beginning of the year. But I basically try to make everything possible. In addition, we are thinking about a second mini nightliner and more Sprinters. It’s just like with the early bird, the earlier you book, the easier it is.
