How long has ALL YOU NEED IS PUNK (AYNIP) been around? What prompted you to start the platform and how did you get into the punk scene?
Mat: AYNIP was born in 2010, combining my passion for music with the desire to let everyone discover the underground bands I loved. I got into punk like most people, by listening to the more famous bands, but it was through the underground scene that I found my true path.

Are you mainly focused on Italian artists, or do you orient yourself internationally? Were there any considerations to make the platform in English in order to increase the reach?
Burz: AYNIP mainly focuses on emerging Italian bands, but of course we’re also very happy to support bands from all over the world. As for the English language, we don’t really feel the need to use it - especially since there are tools available that help with translation.
How do you assess the relevance of physical sound carriers (CD, vinyl, tape, etc.) nowadays? Are physical sound carriers still important to you or do you fully rely on digital media yourself? Why?
Burz: In my opinion, physical media is essential in terms of aesthetics and collectability. But in a world, that’s constantly going digital, I think digital formats are more convenient. The only downside is that a physical CD allows for a more intense experience than digital, because with digital you have infinite choices and it’s easy to jump from one artist to another, leaving albums unfinished.
