Moshmaster.de is relatively new to the metal press firmament. What prompted you to launch the platform and what can the follower/reader expect from you?
Dennis: I’ve been firmly rooted in the metal scene for over three decades. About two years ago, I began specifically supporting smaller bands so they could be heard and, ideally, make the jump to a label. That’s precisely our core idea: to provide bands with a platform to showcase themselves. Interviews, current concert and festival reports, video logs of shows, reviews of old classics as well as brand-new releases.

Moshmaster.de - The metal magazine for the underground. Do you concentrate exclusively on the “little ones” in the biz or are bigger acts also considered? Why the focus on the underground?
Dennis: Our focus is on the underground, because that’s where you’ll find countless bands busting their asses with passion and dedication. Many of today’s big names started right there. Without the support of this scene, they might never have made it this far. In the past, fame was built through merchandise sales and live shows; today, much of it is done digitally. If you don’t have a platform, you’ll quickly disappear into the crowd. We want to give the bands the attention they deserve. Of course, we don’t rule out larger acts altogether.

There are two of you at Moshmaster.de. Are you still looking for comrades-in-arms or will it stay in the constellation for the time being? If you are still looking for people, what skills should they have?
Dennis: Our duo is working wonderfully at the moment, but we’re always open to new members. Anyone interested in honest, passionate metal reporting, who is reliable and passionate about writing, photography, or filming, is welcome to join us. Passion, initiative, and a love of music are crucial – prior knowledge is not required, but enthusiasm is a must.
