Who is behind Musikfreunde Brückl and what prompted you to launch Walburgen Rock in 2023?
Kevin: We are a small group of convinced rock and metal fans who have always wanted to organize our own festival.
You serve the genres of metal, punk and rock at the festival. Can bands apply to you or do you actively choose the bands yourself? What do you value in the selection and what are exclusion criteria for you?
Kevin: Both options are possible. We attach particular importance to local bands and also the newcomers. There are no real exclusion criteria.
What challenges are you facing, especially at Walburgen Rock? Are there developments since 2023 to date that you rate particularly positively and also some that you rate negatively?
Kevin: The biggest challenge is always to stay within budget. We work on a voluntary basis and are financed by sponsors. Of course, we continue to develop every year, and the goal is to hire somewhat larger headliners, whereby the size of the event should always remain manageable.
