Felix - Organization/Booking

The Nuremberg Punk Fest (NPF) took place for the first time this year and is a cooperation between two festival crews. Were you bored or what drove you to create this not necessarily small event out of thin air? 3 locations, 2 days and 30 bands ... sounds like an organizational heavyweight.
Felix: We wouldn’t have gotten to where we are now with WASTED! and KNRD if we had thought small. The key is a little bit of madness in everything we do. Since NPF was a drunk idea at a concert a few years ago, it was the first thought not to start something little, but to create one big thing “with a loud blast”.

How satisfied were you with the 2026 result? What special challenges did you face? Will there be a repeat in 2027 and are there any points that you have to rethink organizationally?
Felix: Well, we were hoping to bring some people together, have a good time and not burn too much money. What we had was a wonderful weekend in a sold-out venue full of smiling faces. We wanted to use the venue’s existing infrastructure so we wouldn’t have to build a festival from scratch on an empty field. That worked out really well. The extra capacity it freed up allowed us to focus even more on the details and nuances that, for us, make organizing events so exciting. So yes, it’s official! We will run NPF 2027 on 12th &13th of February next year! Until that … check out WASTED! and KNRD Fest for the spirit of NPF without walls but with sun, lakes and nature!

What criteria do you use to select the bands? How does the selection process work?
Felix: Since NPF is a child of love of KNRD Fest and Wasted! it’s very important for us to give some notes to the billing by these events. But also, we wanted to celebrate a weekend full of fun for as many different people coming together for punkrock as possible. That’s why we put in some other subgenres to make sure everyone has a great time. It’s all about a collective with its compromises, different faces and most important: love!
