Eric: We had a big anniversary celebration with fans, friends, and family at our sold-out third International Ska Punk Night in January, supported by the mighty UNDANKBAR and our icons LOS FASTIDIOS! To stay realistic, headlining Rock am Ring would be something! Besides that, I think the best wish is to keep the joy of making music and always have something to say.
„Hinlänglich belegt” was recorded and mixed in two phases at two different studios. Why did you choose this way of working? Were there any concerns that splitting the recording process could result in differences in quality?
Eric: Our first recording session was quite spontaneous due to a lack of live shows, and we still had some material left to record that had evolved during the pandemic. So, we simply took that opportunity. An additional advantage was having more time and energy to focus on each song individually. Our great recording engineers and producers took really good care to achieve a solid, homogeneous sound. Also, all the songs were mastered by the same specialized studio.
We live in very fast-paced times in which consumers forget things very quickly and have short attention spans. Will you take another five years to release your third album, or will you adjust your release strategy, if necessary, to release music earlier and more regularly?
Eric: We never had a real long-term strategy, but from now on we actually want to stay active in the songwriting process continuously instead of waiting until enough songs have accumulated. We will absolutely take all the time we need and want, but it may happen more regularly, yes. Also, listeners and music lovers are more than just short-minded consumers. Real music will always endure in the real world.
