Who is behind Riddim Riot, and how long have you been around? And what exactly do you do in detail?
Riddim Riot: We are Joe and Reto and have been doing the booking for the club OXIL for about one year. We are responsible for booking the artists and organizing the event - from arranging the artists‘ accommodation, shopping, and preparing backstage food to creating the timetable, staff scheduling, and cleaning up at the end.

What do you value most when it comes to booking? What do you look for in bands/artists, and what is an absolute no-go for you?
Riddim Riot: We value it when commitment and communication are equally professional. While booking, we value artists from the underground scene. The artists have to match each other, though it is not always necessary for them to be of the exact same genre. We also really put worth into being able to book unknown or small bands with not much reach, supporting local and independent artists. Haha, the worst is receiving extensive riders where the band doesn’t even know what’s on them.
What specific challenges do you face in your daily work with Riddim Riot? What makes your work difficult, and how do you deal with it?
Riddim Riot: Generally, the most difficult part is gathering all the information we need to plan and execute the event. Difficulties can also arise from an imbalance between the location and the artists‘ expectations. Often, we have the opportunity to make compromises, like working together with other venues.
