How long has Tersicore-Booking (TB) been around, who is behind it, what exactly do you do for your clients (tours, solo shows, festivals, etc.) and how many events do you do per year?
Chris: A friend of mine (Shanti) and I founded TB back in 2011 to connect touring bands with the local scene here in the Basel border region. TB is essentially a network of bands – bands that organize gigs and are an active part of the scene. We collaborate with clubs, festivals, and other booking agencies. There were years when we organized 20 to 40 concerts ourselves. Currently, I only manage one regular event – the Mosh Fest at the Raumstation in Auggen – while also booking additional club shows for various bands on the side.

What do you look at when working with artists? What is important to you and what are NO-GO’s?
Chris: It is important to me that bands matter to other bands as well. They should be willing to give something back. TB is not about money; it is about a vibrant DIY spirit. Furthermore, across all scene boundaries, there is absolutely no room for radicalized garbage from Nazis or other inhumane groups. People should be able to tolerate differing opinions. Music and solidarity are what truly matter. The core principle is simple: one hand washes the other.

Booking is always a big and sensitive topic for many bands. From a booker’s point of view, do you have a tip for bands on what they should consider when booking and what should be avoided at all costs?
Chris: Build your own network. Collaborate with other bands, organize joint shows and concerts, and get actively involved in your local music scene. Start a blog or offer some form of added value that goes beyond a mere, „Hey, we are the super cool new Blah-Blah band.“ Being in a band means cooperating with other artists from early on rather than just viewing them as competition – and the best part is that genuine friendships can grow this way. I know several bands where visiting Italy or Northern Germany feels just like a family reunion.
