What’s your musical background and how did you get into sound engineering? K: I’ve been playing guitar since I was 13 and it became clear early on: this wouldn’t stay a hobby. At the same time, I saw where many traditional music paths lead: cover bands, music-teaching, orchestra pits. Respectable, but not my vision. I wanted to make and produce songs, not chase live jobs forever. So, the next step was not just playing music but learning how to record/shape/polish it to make it sound like a real release, but not a rehearsal recording. What motivates you to pass on your skills and don’t you lose clients if you train others to produce on their own? K: I went the traditional way: audio school, event technician, certificates.
